Shetland Triangle Shawl
Page,
Thought I'd post an update on my Shetland Triangle Shawl. It is almost finished but it has been such a fun and relatively mindless lace project that I kind of hate to see it end. On the other hand, I have other projects that need my attention and others that I'm anxious to start.
Here is a picture of the beading that I added to the shawl but which wasn't a part of the pattern:
I also increased the pattern repeats from 8 to 12 to make sure that the shawl would be large enough since it is cotton and doesn't have as much stretch as wool. I'm also increasing the edging by another 4 rows just to make it look more like edging and less like the same pattern as the rest of the shawl. I think the added rows with beading will add balance to the project. Once it is finished and blocked, I will post more pictures.

Mom,
I love how it is turning out. The beads are lovely and the color of that yarn is perfect for you! I am on the hunt for some blocking wires which I think I've located at a local welding supply house. You can get stainless steel 1/16" 36" long wires that are good for blocking knitting. I read about this on Ravelry, of course. My sweet husband called and tracked them down. Now all I have to do is get him to pick them up and I can block my shawl.

Just be sure to thoroughly clean the blocking wires before using them. Let me know how they work out.

Mom
